About

Autorské šperky Eyra, které jinde nenajdeš. Limitované šperky pro ty, kdo ve špercích hledají symbol a příběh, ne jen ozdobu. Vždy mnou ručně vyráběné.
My name is Natálie, and I started making jewelry in November 2019 — almost by accident, like a blind person stumbling upon the violin.
I knew I wanted to create something, but I had no idea what. Then I came across a few handmade earrings on Pinterest that I really liked, and I thought, this could be it. At the time, I had no clue about components, which materials were suitable, or even what my jewelry should look like. So I bought a pair of plain hoop earrings, some copper wire, and a bag full of colorful beads. That’s how my very first earrings were born. Honestly, I’m glad none of them survived, because from a sustainability perspective, they were simply awful.
That’s when I decided I didn’t want to make earrings that, just like those from regular stores, would be thrown away after a few months. Ordinary jewelry quickly turns black from water, sweat, and scratches. That’s why I began making all my pieces from gold- or silver-plated copper. The gold plating is 14k or 18k gold, forming a thin layer over the copper base.
Minerals then became the heart of my designs. To this day, I still buy them from a local supplier who guarantees that they are 100% natural.
But…
Simply put, I stopped enjoying it. The fact that I couldn’t create my jewelry entirely from scratch and had to rely on ready-made components pushed me to search for new alternatives and materials. That journey eventually led me to brass and silver-plated tin. Tin, with its beautiful malleability, offers countless possibilities for shaping jewelry and giving each piece a truly personal touch.
And it certainly won’t end with tin. I’ve also begun studying goldsmithing, which I (hopefully) will complete in 2028. This will open the door to many more opportunities to work with precious metals.
